The Renovation Challenge has been created by one of Ottawa's top Real Estate Brokers. Joining the Royal LePage team in 2004, Jody Lavoie provides a truly personal experience to each of his clients. Jody was born and raised in Ottawa and now currently resides in Barrhaven with his wife and son.

Having owned and run his own business for several years Jody decided it was time to follow his true passion; real estate. This passion was instilled in Jody at a young age as he watched his father succeed in the Ottawa market as a Realtor®. The Lavoie family has been trading in real estate since 1972.

After welcoming the birth of his first son, Jody realized there was more to his business then just buying and selling homes. Taking all the experience he acquired through running several business' as well as his own success in real estate, Jody came up with the Renovation Challenge. A charity project that would mix his passion for real estate with his desire to give back to the community.

Committed to giving back, Jody purchased a run down home in the Ottawa area with the intent of "Flipping" it for profit. All the profit was to be donated to local shelter based charities. The first Renovation Challenge ended in the success he had hoped, donating $30,000 to several local Ottawa Charities.
As a result of the hard work, Jody was named the 2008 Individual of the Year for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. This is a prestigious award given to a select few Realtors each year.  

Not only did this award help benefit the community; it is also enhancing Jody's ability to help his clients. As the general foreman on the renovation project, getting right into each and every project at the house, Jody's knowledge of home construction has grown astronomically. Add to this experience, his previous existing interest in construction; Jody has an excellent eye and ability to see both strengths and flaws in homes he shows to clients. The out of the box thinking with this knowledge also comes in handy when helping  his clients see past the existing condition of a home and help see the potential for those that need some TLC, repairs or expansions.
Within the Real Estate community Jody remains heavily active. As a member of several committees within the Ottawa Real Estate Board, he spends countless hours each year trying to improve the standards and practices of real estate members in this city. This truly shows his passion not only for each client he represents, but also for the entire industry and all of the public.
